We are seeking a talented individual to join our MMB team at Mercer. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Senior Account Manager will handle accounts, including designing the insurance program, marketing the account to insurance carriers, proposing renewal terms to clients and interacting with clients on their day to day service needs.
We will count on you to:
- Manage renewals, new businesses and expansion of business.
- Act as the initial point of contact for clients, carriers and other members of the service team.
- Solicit and follows up for renewal information from the client.
- Design, market and negotiate client renewals and new business with the insurance carriers.
- Prepare proposal and attend client meetings to discuss the renewal proposal.
- Bind insurance terms as directed by the client.
- Transmit binders to the client in a timely manner.
- Provide the client with day to day service:
- Consult with clients on day-to-day inquiries about their insurance program.
- Advise the client and carrier of any changes necessary to their insurance program.
- Maintain client information.
- Summarize and schedules of insurance.
- Support client service executive on renewals and new business.
- Prepare renewal information request.
- Prepare loss summaries and large loss reports.
What you need to have:
- University degree in a related discipline or other relevant qualifications.
- 7+ years' experience in the insurance broking space.
- Commercially astute and strong business sense. Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong track record in client and vendor management.
- Ability to mentor and grow teams.
- Self-initiative and curiosity in health and benefits sector. Self-motivated to seek out knowledge, test ideas and ways to contribute to the team.
- Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with team members.
- Outstanding project management skill, in planning ahead the different milestones to achieve and execute in a timely manner with strong commitment on quality.
- Computer literacy especially in Microsoft Office.
- Strong language capabilities in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
