Job Description
Primary functions and essential responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance fund projection and forecasting models across Ares strategies to support capital planning, performance analysis, and key financial insights.
- Perform scenario analyses and sensitivity testing to evaluate outcomes, provide recommendations to management, and support strategic decision-making.
- Drive model-related automation and reporting enhancements, leveraging data analytics and technology to improve forecasting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Act as a player-coach by managing relationships with internal teams across the U.S. and Mumbai, as well as external service providers and fund administrators.
- Serve as a trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring effective communication and execution.
- Lead reporting, analytics, and operational enhancement initiatives, including dashboard development, employee-facing reporting, process improvements, and AI-driven automation.
- Support strategic and operational initiatives, including the implementation of a centralized investor operations platform, project management, and updates to executive leadership.
- Train, mentor, and oversee junior team members across the U.S. and Mumbai, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely execution of deliverables.
- Provide support for ad hoc requests from limited partners, analysts, and investment teams.
Qualifications
Education:
- BS/BA with major in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field with outstanding academic record
Experience Required:
- 6-9 years of relevant experience, preferably within asset management, financial services, or investment-related environments.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process improvements, automation solutions, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to lead initiatives and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Experience managing third-party service providers and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill and present complex information clearly.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills; prior people management, mentoring, or coaching experience is preferred.
- Experience preparing client- and investor-facing materials, including portfolio reviews, performance reports, pitchbooks, DDQs, RFPs, and market commentary a plus.
- Proficiency with data analytics and reporting tools such as Anaplan, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar platforms.
General Requirements:
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across remote and geographically dispersed teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, financial modeling, and macro development.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, with the ability to create polished presentations, reports, and client-ready materials.
- Strong client-service mindset with the ability to tailor communications and content for diverse audiences.
- Solutions-oriented and resourceful self-starter who exercises sound judgment, balances independent problem-solving with appropriate escalation, and embraces ambiguity.
- Demonstrated integrity, intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial mindset, and passion for driving innovation and operational efficiency.
