About the Role
As a Senior Associate, Strategy in our Insto Strategy & Execution team, you’ll play a key role in working closely with senior leaders across Strategy and Execution, you will provide support and guidance to Head of Strategy, Capability, Marketing and Corporate Finance and to Associate Director Strategy to shape and drive the strategic direction and transformation of Institutional, prioritised client and product proposition of Institutional, aligned with ANZ Group priorities and objectives. You will translate market, regulatory and customer insights into targeted propositions and scalable business outcomes.
You will also analyse results to identify opportunities to improve growth outcomes, profitability and customer activity, aligned with the strategic direction of Institutional. You will work closely with stakeholders across Group Strategy, Transformation Office, Risk, T&C, Finance, Tech and Operations to support strategic execution consistent with sustainable cost expectations

What will your day look like?
You will be accountable for:
- Support the development, communication and execution of Institutional strategy, priorities including clear goals and objectives aligned to enterprise strategy
- Support the alignment and coordination of strategic priorities across Business Units
- Support transformational priorities for the division from time-to-time
- Through data analysis, identify new revenue pools, growth opportunities and foster innovation across the division, including B&PB uptiering, downtiering
- Work closely with stakeholders and Group Finance to continue to improve metrics – eg CTI, ROE – and business performance
- Partner with Group Strategy to ensure Institutional’s priorities align with Group’s priorities
- Using clear data insights and observations, and working with key leaders across Strategy & Execution, support the coordination of major transformation initiatives across Strategy and Execution
- Ensure execution is disciplined, track progress, communicate outcomes, aligned with objectives
- Support cross-divisional progress to drive simplification, efficiency and growth
- Maintain good governance with Group Transformation Office and Group Strategy
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer needs to inform strategy and decision-making
- Define target segments and sub-segments, and develop differentiated customer strategies and value propositions
- Provide deep insights to uplift customer-centric initiatives and opportunities to enhance engagement and outcomes
- Customer First focus consistent with ANZ’s FY30 objectives and values
- Grow collaborative working relationships across ANZ to ensure best value for customers and employees
- Assist colleagues and less experienced staff through sharing knowledge and coaching staff as required
- Mentor/coach more junior members of the team.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven experience and understanding of the Institutional businesses.
- Microsoft office skills, with a strong emphasis on building, creating PowerPoint, advanced excel, co-pilot, teams and SharePoint navigation.
- Tertiary qualified with a strong understanding of the Institutional, ideally with more than 10 years' experience is highly desirable.
- Strong data and analytical skills
- Strong problem solving and collaboration skills – an ability to quickly identify strengths and weaknesses of a problem, engage appropriate SMEs and bring together effective and realistic recommendations that lead to meaningful improvement across the business.
- Ability to execute improvements, navigating different teams, businesses and overcoming roadblocks.
- Well organised, able to manage and prioritise a large and fast-moving workload, coordinating and delivering multiple simultaneous initiatives.
- Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills - spoken, written and in person. Proven experience in building and maintaining strong sponsor and key stakeholder relationships.
