- Serving as a key legal advisor on strategic transactions, regulatory initiatives, corporate projects, and collaborations with internal and external partners
- Supporting product development and lifecycle management, including drafting, negotiating, and updating complex documentation
- Advising on central clearing, tri-party collateral management, custody, segregation, and related market infrastructure matters

- Partnering closely with Compliance, Credit, Risk, Operations, Technology, and other legal colleagues to deliver practical, business-oriented advice
- Drafting and reviewing policies, procedures, client-facing materials, and thought leadership content
- Monitoring legal, regulatory, and market developments and advising the business on evolving requirements and opportunities
- Participating in industry working groups and advocacy efforts, including matters involving SIFMA and other relevant forums
- Helping drive efficient and scalable legal support in a high-volume environment
Examples of work may include:
- Central clearing documentation and regulatory support for multiple central counterparties
- Legal support for digital asset and tokenization initiatives
- Advising on market infrastructure projects involving clearing, settlement, custody, and collateral movement
- Supporting new product launches and enhancements involving AI-enabled workflow changes
- Assisting with high-priority projects with aggressive timelines and significant business visibility
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- J.D. and admission to practice law in New York
- [8–12] years of experience at a law firm and/or large financial institution
- Experience with tri-party arrangements, collateral management, clearance, custody, and related financial market products
- Familiarity with clearing agreements, account control agreements, security agreements, MSLA, MRA, ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, and similar industry-standard documentation
- Strong knowledge of securities law, SEC rules, UCC Article 8, and related broker-dealer and investment fund considerations
- Familiarity with central clearing, securities finance, derivatives, and evolving regulatory issues in the collateral management space
- Experience with or interest in digital assets, tokenization, DLT, or other emerging market infrastructure technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and practical legal analysis
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- A highly collaborative, collegial approach and the ability to work effectively across teams
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to adopt and improve AI-enabled legal workflows
Preferred qualities:
- Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for innovative financial market infrastructure
