What’s the role? 

The Senior Manager in Group Investigations (GI) at Westpac leads and oversees complex investigations into serious misconduct and whistleblower matters across the Group. This role ensures investigations are conducted with integrity, consistency, and care, while supporting those involved. 

In addition to managing their own caseload, the Senior Manager provides strategic guidance to a team of investigators, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and delivers insights to senior stakeholders to improve conduct and operational resilience. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, 

  • Adhere to Group Investigation guidelines and operating procedures. 
  • Identify weaknesses in process and procedures within banking products and systems and adhere to our incident management process 
  • Ensure all matters investigated, inclusive of data and intel collation, are maintained and escalated within current regulatory reporting standards 

This is a hybrid permanent, full-time opportunity based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, with flexible working arrangements  

What do I need? 

  • Strong experience leading and overseeing investigations, with the ability to communicate effectively at Executive levels. 
  • A background in Legal, Financial Services, Risk, or Compliance is essential. 
  • Solid knowledge of criminal law and workplace investigation practices. 
  • Proficient report writer with proven ability to succinctly articulate complex findings. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations. 
  • Demonstrate strong ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
