Contributes to the overall success of the Retail Banking in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

The Senior Manager, Investments Client Growth and Engagement, will shape the strategy, planning and execution of key multi-channel short-term and long-term strategic initiatives that drive growth across our retail investment business. Sitting at the intersection of strategy, analytics, client behavior, and execution, you will identify opportunities to grow assets, deepen client relationships, and improve customer lifetime value. 

 

The role will leverage data, customer insights, and market opportunities to develop growth strategies, initiatives, outreach campaigns to new and existing clients, and manage cross-functional programs that deliver measurable business results. This role offers meaningful exposure to senior stakeholders across Product, Analytics, Marketing, Client Experience, Channel, and Advisor teams.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:  

  • Growth Strategy & Portfolio Prioritization
    • Own the Retail Investments client growth and engagement roadmap across acquisition, onboarding, deepening, cross-sell, retention, and attrition mitigation.
    • Identify, size, and prioritize growth opportunities using client, portfolio, channel, competitive, financial, and performance insights.
    • Build strategic recommendations and business cases that clarify commercial value, client impact, investment requirements, risks, dependencies, and success measures.
    • Recommend trade-offs across campaigns, offers, leads, marketing, digital, field capacity, and partnership opportunities.

 

  • Initiative Leadership & Go-to-Market Execution
    • Lead the end-to-end strategy, planning, approval, launch, and performance management of growth initiatives, including investment-season campaigns, always-on engagement programs, targeted offers, digital outreach, and strategic partnerships.
    • Oversee the design and launch of multi-channel go-to-market plans across mass, targeted, leads, digital, field, advisor, and partner channels.
    • Set the outreach and communications strategy for priority client segments, ensuring initiatives are client-relevant, commercially compelling, and aligned to advisor/channel execution capacity.
    • Define lead strategies that improve opportunity quality, field actionability, conversion, and business outcomes.

 

  • Insights, Measurement & Executive Decision Support
    • Establish performance frameworks, KPIs, test-and-learn plans, and reporting routines to measure initiative impact across gross sales, balance growth, revenue, penetration, engagement, conversion, and attrition.
    • Translate complex data and performance results into concise executive-ready insights, implications, and recommendations.
    • Monitor market, competitive, client, and channel trends to refresh the growth agenda and recommend strategic pivots.
    • Develop leadership updates and decision materials that clearly articulate the “so what,” options, trade-offs, and recommended path forward.

 

  • Cross-Functional Delivery, Partnerships & Risk Alignment:
    • Lead cross-functional working teams and senior stakeholder alignment across Product, Analytics, Distribution, Marketing, Client Experience, Financial Planning, Risk, and external partners to convert strategic priorities into executable growth initiatives.
    • In partnership with marketing and communications teams, lead development of mass and targeted marketing initiatives (including advertising creatives, client emails, media and partnership opportunities).
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, testing, and innovation to accelerate growth and client outcomes.
    • Ensure all initiatives align with the Bank’s risk management framework, risk culture, and strategic priorities.

 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:  

  • University degree in marketing, business administration, finance or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience developing strategies and leading large-scale programs and campaigns in banking, investments or financial services.
  • Strong strategic thinking and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong relationship management and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to influence senior leaders.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver complex programs.
  • Experience in marketing, customer strategy, growth strategy, product management or client personalization outreach will be beneficial.
