The SCOR Business Solutions (SBS) Operations team operates within SCOR as part of its specialty insurance and reinsurance activities and supports both SBS and Cedant Facultative underwriting operations. The team provides operational leadership and specialist support for day-to-day operational activity, internal and external reporting, process improvement, controls and system enhancements across both business areas. This senior role is expected to operate with credibility across stakeholders, apply sound judgement to complex operational issues, and help shape scalable, controlled and efficient ways of working. 

  • The Senior SBS Operations Analyst will provide senior-level operational expertise to the SBS Operations team and broader P&C Organisation, taking ownership of complex analysis, coordination and improvement activity across the following areas:
  • Act as a subject matter expert for SBS and Cedant Facultative operations, providing guidance, challenge and recommendations to stakeholders on operational best practice, process design and control effectivenes 

  • Lead the review, update and creation of process documentation, ensuring outputs are accurate, controlled and suitable for senior stakeholder review.
    • Coordinate and oversee the key Syndicate timetable activities, including areas such as the Month Close, Regulatory Returns across the Globe, Analytical Segmentation and Operational Management Reporting. 
    • Define, monitor and interpret KPIs and operational metrics, providing meaningful insight to management and proactively escalating emerging risks, performance issues and control weaknesses that will help P&C Operations and the broader P&C Community. 

    • Drive process improvements from identification through to delivery, working with relevant stakeholders to agree priorities, manage dependencies and embed sustainable change.
    • Analyse complex opportunities across people, process, technology and data to identify trends, root causes, inefficiencies and strategic improvement opportunities.

    • Develop and influence recommendations that improve accuracy, efficiency, scalability, control effectiveness and service delivery outcomes.
    • Ensure operational practices comply with regulatory standards, company policies, data protection, and audit requirements.

    • Lead the onboarding of new business lines, coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders to ensure successful integration into existing operating models and controls.

    • Champion the embedding of Operational Resilience requirements within business-as-usual operations, ensuring resilience considerations are incorporated into operational processes, controls, governance and change initiatives.

Provide a senior business perspective on how new technologies could advance SCOR’s analytical capability, including but not limited to Palantir, Azure DataBricks, Spark and the use, integration or build of AI models.

Operational Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Analyse end-to-end SBS and Cedant Facultative operations across underwriting, policy administration, claims, renewals and endorsements.
  • Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation or optimisation.

  • Shape and implement new workflows, standard operating procedures and best-practice operational standards.
  • Develop, interpret and present KPIs, dashboards and operational reports for leadership teams, translating data into clear insight, actionable insight and influencing operational priorities, risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives .
  • Lead the integration of Cedant Facultative activity into established SBS operating processes, including workflow documentation, service monitoring and operational issue resolution.

Data & Reporting

  • Produce and present regular and ad-hoc reports to leadership and governance forums, , providing clear analysis on trends, risks, dependencies and recommended actions.  Participating and presenting findings to committees and senior members of staff. 
  • Collect, validate, and interpret operational and insurance-related data (e.g., loss ratios, turnaround times, performance metrics).

  • Work with data, finance, and actuarial teams to ensure accurate data flows and reporting integrity.

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders and manage external resources to meet regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring deadlines set by regulatory bodies are consistently achieved.

  • Oversee existing reporting processes, ensuring reliability, accuracy and timely delivery to meet business needs.
  • Produce and maintain Cedant Facultative operational reporting, including pipeline, booking, portfolio-transfer and performance monitoring, and investigate data-quality or process exceptions.
  • Maintain Operational Resilience artefacts, ensuring they remain current, accurate and aligned to business and regulatory expectations.

Systems & Technology Support

  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of core systems platforms, including Xuber, Open Box+, UP and Internal SCOR Systems Ensuring solutions support business objectives and operational efficiency.
  • Engage with SCOR IT, SBS Product & Tech Team and vendors to resolve system issues, enhance functionality and progress upgrades.
  • Lead Cedant Facultative system and workflow enhancements, including requirements definition, user acceptance testing, implementation, training and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Coordinate user readiness, testing and training for new system features, ensuring operational adoption and effective post-implementation feedback.

Risk, Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure operational processes comply with regulatory standards and company policies.

  • Identify emerging risks and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor and maintain SBS and Cedant Facultative operational controls, escalating exceptions and driving remediation and audit evidence to completion.
  • Prepare and quality assure documentation for regulatory reviews, audits and internal governance activities.

Governance & Operational Resilience

  • Coordinate the operation of Operational Resilience governance forums by consolidating inputs, maintaining clear records of decisions and actions, and monitoring agreed follow-up activities.

  • Maintain governance documentation, controls, policies and operational resilience artefacts, ensuring they remain current, accurate and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive timely reporting and escalation of operational risks, control issues, service vulnerabilities and remediation actions to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Embed operational resilience into day-to-day operations by integrating resilience considerations into processes, change activity, controls, reporting, training and business decision-making.

  • Coordinate and submit SCOR’s annual operational resilience self-assessments to the PRA and Lloyd’s.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with SBS and Cedant Facultative underwriting, technical accounting and administration, claims, product, finance, risk, compliance and technology teams to streamline processes and deliver business objectives.

  • Take a lead role in delivering operational initiatives and organisational changes, coordinating across teams and providing business expertise, issue resolution and stakeholder engagement.

  • Lead onboarding and training sessions for new hires or new operational processes, ensuring consistent adoption of agreed ways of working.

Build and maintain strong relationships with SCOR and external stakeholders, influencing outcomes, managing expectations and delivering operational solutions aligned to business priorities 

  • Coordinate business impact analysis, dependency mapping, scenario testing and lessons-learned activities, tracking improvement actions through to completion.

  • Coordinate scenario testing of Important Business Services (IBS) and relevant third-party dependencies, working with business owners, technology, risk and service providers to plan and facilitate exercises, evidence performance against impact tolerances, capture lessons learned and track remediation actions through to completion.

Required experience & competencies

  • Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau and SQL, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful operational insight. 
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information, identify key trends and issues, and present clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders. 
  • Proactive, curious and self-motivated, with the confidence to challenge constructively, influence decision-making and take ownership of outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across functions, establishing credibility with stakeholders at all levels while maintaining a focus on delivery, governance and continuous improvement. 
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to identify innovative solutions, design improved operational processes and drive implementation through to successful completion. 
  • Good knowledge of the Lloyd's and London Market insurance environment would be advantageous. 
  •  Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, influence and build trust across a diverse stakeholder group.
