Job Description

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues.         .
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
  • Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

You may be assessed on the key skills and competencies critical for success in this role, including:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts.
  • Creating comprehensive test strategies covering both manual and automated testing.
  • Developing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
  • Executing functional and regression testing activities.
  • Identifying, documenting, managing, and tracking defects through to resolution.
  • Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams within Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Analysing test results and providing meaningful quality metrics and reports.
  • Driving continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Awareness of AI technologies with practical exposure to AI tools and their application within software testing.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with:

  • Test automation frameworks, tools, and testing best practices.
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Test and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Defect management, test reporting, and quality assurance processes.
  • Relevant role-specific technologies, domain knowledge, and skill set.

Basic/Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in manual and automated testing across functional and regression testing.
  • Strong expertise in Jira, Confluence, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and defect management skills.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Desirable skillsets/good to have:

  • ISTQB or equivalent certification.
  • Awareness of AI technologies with practical exposure to AI tools and their application within software testing.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices to support modern quality engineering approaches.

This role will be based out of Chennai.
