Ready to make an impact? We're looking for an onsite intern to join our team starting in January 2027 at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC. Available to work an average of 10hrs per week with possibility for extension into the Summer with increased hours. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 23.

As a Loan Origination & Loan Servicing Intern with the Live Oak Express (LOE) Team, you will play a meaningful role in helping us deliver a seamless experience for our customers from application through servicing.
This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to banking operations, lending processes, and customer support while working alongside experienced professionals. Your contributions will help our team operate efficiently, support customer needs, and uphold the exceptional service standards that define Live Oak's culture.

What You'll Do at Live Oak
As a Loan Origination & Loan Servicing Intern, you will support a variety of activities across the lending lifecycle, including loan processing, servicing operations, customer support, and portfolio administration.
Responsibilities may include:
Assist with loan application intake, document collection, and file preparation.
Support loan servicing activities, including payment processing, account maintenance, and customer requests.
Review documents for completeness and accuracy while maintaining organized records.
Help monitor loan pipelines and servicing queues to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
Conduct research and gather information to support operational and portfolio management initiatives.
Communicate professionally with internal team members to help resolve customer needs and operational questions.
Assist with data entry, reporting, process documentation, and operational projects.
Identify opportunities to improve team processes and contribute ideas that enhance efficiency and customer experience.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information with care and professionalism.
Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC.
Participate in team meetings, training activities, and professional development opportunities.
Required Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking, Management, Communications, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new concepts.
Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and customer service.
Preferred Experience
Previous internship, work experience, volunteer experience, or leadership involvement in a campus organization.
Interest in banking, lending, financial services, or business operations.
Experience working with data, reporting, or process improvement projects.
Familiarity with customer service environments.
Exposure to financial statements, accounting principles, or credit analysis through coursework or prior experience.
Experience using Excel for data analysis, organization, or reporting.
Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a desire to build a career in financial services.

The base pay range for this position is $19.77 - $32.12 per hour. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy.
