The Structured Credit & Trading team specializes in both credit analysis and trading for RGA’s structured assets, across RMBS, CMBS, CLO, and ABS. The team seeks the best relative value opportunities across all structured products asset classes and sectors.
The position will provide the candidate with great exposure to the various roles and responsibilities within the investments department of an insurance company. The intern will learn the various methods and thought processes in analyzing industries, issuers, collateral, and structural characteristics of structured products.
The intern will also learn how a credit & trading team makes investment decisions within the mandate of a broader insurance organization, achieving income goals within the constraints of ALM (asset liability management) objectives. Work as a member of the Structured Credit & Trading team which manages RGA’s structured asset portfolio. The intern will work alongside the Trader/PM’s across product types and other analysts on the team providing support in their due diligence process and reporting needs. Projects can expand to include building new tool sets for use in analysis or reporting.
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the Junior, Senior or Graduate level pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related degree program at an accredited US University
- On track to graduate with Honors, maintaining a 3.5+ GPA
- Strong initiation to learn new concepts
- Be proactive in asking thoughtful questions and asking for feedback
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to tackle challenging tasks
- Entrepreneurial thinker and self-motivated
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python & SQL preferred)
- Basic development or scripting experience used to extract data from various sources, with a proven ability to handle, clean, and analyze datasets
