Summer Internship Programme 2027 – Global Markets

If you are passionate in pursuing a career in the Banking Industry, this is a chance for you to immerse yourself within our global financial group. Our Summer Internship Programme is an opportunity for you to experience what it is like to work within MUFG and determine where you want to take your career.

We are currently offering internship opportunities in our Global Markets stream, where you will gain practical exposure to the fast-moving financial markets environment. Working alongside colleagues across relevant desks and functions, you will develop an understanding of how market developments, client needs, pricing, liquidity and risk considerations influence business decisions.

What you will do

• Support market and product research, data analysis, desk reporting and the preparation of briefing materials.
• Monitor relevant market developments and help summarise key trends, movements and potential business implications.
• Gain exposure to different Global Markets areas and learn how teams collaborate to support clients and manage market-related risks, including participating in client events and meetings
• Contribute to assigned projects and presentations while developing your analytical, communication and technical skills.

Job Requirements:

• Penultimate-year students from a reputable university with strong academic results;
• Students pursuing Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or other quantitative disciplines are preferred;
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Knowledge of quantitative analysis and technical tools, such as Python, SQL, VBA or other data analytics and programming tools, would be an advantage;
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets, macroeconomic developments, treasury or trading-related activities;
• Proficiency in English is required. Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin would be an advantage;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and communicate key observations clearly; and
• Willingness to learn, work accurately in a fast-moving environment and demonstrate a proactive, can-do attitude.
