Directorate Overview
FMID sits at the heart of the Bank and is responsible for supervision, policy and risk analysis of key financial market infrastructures (e.g. payment systems, CCPs and securities depositories). The directorate works closely across the Bank, with external firms, and with international regulators in a highly collaborative environment.
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated secretary to provide support to Senior Managers and their teams in the Payment Settlement and Innovation Supervision Divisions. This would suit an enterprising secretary who is looking to develop their skills and gain a wide experience in a busy office. The jobholder would form part of a wider team supporting the directorate.
This is an exciting position with a varied and interesting workload with opportunities to display your own initiative. It will suit someone who is able to prioritise their workload and co‑ordinate numerous tasks, as the role comes with a wide range of responsibilities. You need to be well-organised; a good communicator; confident at collaborating closely at all levels (internally and externally); be flexible; and able to work successfully within the team. The Senior Managers have busy diaries which require effective management, arranging internal and external meetings. Duties include: arranging domestic and international travel; processing expenses; coordinating Joiner/Mover/Leaver processes within the teams; and act as a point of contact for the teams.
The support team is self-covering so the jobholder will be required to help cover absences on the unit, including covering the Head of Division Personal Assistant role.
Role Requirements
- Provide support to Senior Managers and their teams
- Manage diaries, including scheduling, prioritisation and resolving clashes
- Coordinate supervisory meetings with external firms (including papers and agendas)
- Act as a key liaison point for external firms, ensuring professional and effective engagement
- Support governance processes where needed
- Arrange travel and process expenses
- Liaise with colleagues across FMID, wider Bank teams, and external firms
- Provide cover and support across the wider admin team
Minimum Criteria
- Team Secretary or administrative experience
- Diary management experience
- Microsoft Office skills

Desirable Criteria
- Experience of having covered at HoD PA level.
