Who we are looking for

We are looking for a senior hands-on individual contributor to provide critical production and operational support for traders, portfolio managers, and investment teams. The role requires strong knowledge of the trading lifecycle, proven L2 support experience, major incident management expertise, excellent business-facing communication skills, and the ability to drive automation-led support improvements. This is a business-facing, in-office position requiring a minimum of four days per week in the office. The role requires close collaboration with traders, portfolio managers, application development teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and support partners in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where responsiveness and business impact are paramount.

What you will be responsible for

As a Trading Systems Production Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide hands-on Level 2 (L2) production support for front-office trading, investment management, Order Management System (OMS), Execution Management System (EMS), and market data platforms, ensuring high availability and timely resolution of production issues.

  • Serve as the primary business-facing individual contributor (IC) point of contact for traders, portfolio managers, and investment professionals, providing timely support and resolution during trading-day issues and incidents.

  • Use front office and trading lifecycle knowledge to diagnose issues across order capture, routing, execution, booking, allocations, confirmations and post-trade handoffs.

  • Lead Major Incidents, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder updates and drive timely service restoration.

  • Troubleshoot complex application, data, database, messaging, and infrastructure issues by leveraging expertise in SQL, Unix/Linux, APIs, XML/JSON, FIX, and SWIFT technologies.

  • Partner with development, infrastructure, vendor and business teams to drive permanent fixes and operational resilience.

  • Use AIOps, observability tools, and AI-SRE practices to improve event correlation, anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, and alert quality.

  • Create or support self-healing agents, automated runbooks and AI-assisted workflows for repeatable L2 troubleshooting scenarios.

  • Maintain SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles, operational metrics, and support documentation.

What we value

  • Strong knowledge of trading workflows, OMS/EMS, market data and business-critical front office applications. Good understanding of the full trading lifecycle, including order capture, routing, execution, trade booking, allocations, confirmations, reconciliations and settlement dependencies.

  • Hands-on expertise in SQL, Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, Autosys or enterprise scheduling tools.

  • Working knowledge of FIX protocol, SWIFT protocol, APIs, XML, JSON and messaging-based application flows.

  • Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) and ITL practices (Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management).

  • Cloud support exposure across AWS, Azure or hybrid cloud environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong contributor with a high level of motivation, capable of taking initiative, setting priorities, and executing tasks with minimal guidance.

  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to lead major incident (MI) calls and interact with senior business stakeholders.

  • Exposure to equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives, ETFs or multi-asset front office environments.

  • Experience with AIOps, observability tools, DevOps, SRE or platform engineering practices.

  • Hands-on exposure to self-healing automation, AI-powered operational assistants or autonomous remediation workflows.

  • AI-SRE mindset focused on automation, resilience, proactive monitoring and reduction of manual support effort.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in front office production support / trading systems support within asset management, capital markets or financial services.

  • Technology/Operations certifications such as ITIL Foundation, ServiceNow CSA, AWS/Azure Cloud, SRE/AIOps, AI or Generative AI certifications.

  • Domain certifications such as CFA Investment Foundations, CFI Capital Markets & Securities Analyst, Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute certifications.

Additional requirements

Work Requirement

  • Ability to work from office at least four days per week, in alignment with the business-facing requirements of the role.
