We are looking for a Transformation Manager / Execution Excellence Lead who will play a pivotal role in transforming and continuously improving the way our Commercial Insurance business operates.

This is not a traditional operations role. You will play a key role in building the execution capability of our Commercial Insurance organization by simplifying processes, driving continuous improvement and leveraging technology to enable our underwriters to focus on what they do best: Underwriting.

Working across Underwriting, Operations, Alternative Distribution, IT and our (inter)national teams, you will ensure that strategic ambitions are translated into operational excellence and sustainable execution.

Your Purpose

Building the execution capability of Commercial Insurance

As the Transformation Manager / Execution Excellence Lead, you will develop and embed a culture of Execution Excellence across Commercial Insurance based on a learning and continuous improving environment. 

You will continuously challenge the status quo, identify opportunities to improve our operating model and drive initiatives that increase efficiency, effectiveness, quality and scalability.

Together with the leadership team, you ensure that the strategy truly lands in the organization where we together make the Underwriting organization scalable, efficient and future-ready.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Execution Excellence

• Develop and execute the Operational & Execution Excellence roadmap for Commercial Insurance. 
• Build the future operating model that supports sustainable business growth. 
• Increase the execution capability of the organization by creating scalable and repeatable ways of working. 
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks across the end-to-end underwriting journey. 
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Continuous Improvement principles. 
• Create structure, governance and standardization across the business. 
• Foster a culture where execution excellence becomes part of the organization's DNA. 

 

Process Management

• Own and continuously improve key commercial and operational processes. 
• Design, document and optimize end-to-end workflows. 
• Develop process standards, governance and work instructions. 
• Ensure consistency, quality and operational control across all processes. 
• Act as process owner for cross-functional initiatives. 

 

Performance Management

• Develop KPIs and management dashboards that provide meaningful (operational) insights. 
• Translate data into actionable improvement initiatives. 
• Monitor operational performance, quality and productivity. 
• Support leadership with data-driven decision making. 

 

Digital Transformation & Automation

• Identify opportunities to digitize and automate underwriting processes. 
• Drive implementation of AI solutions, workflow automation and digital capabilities. 
• Use technology as an enabler, not as an objective—to simplify work and improve execution. 
• Enhance both broker and customer journeys through smarter digital processes. 
• Ensure operational readiness for new products and distribution models.

 

Project & Change Management

• Lead strategic transformation and operational improvement initiatives. 
• Translate strategic priorities into practical execution plans and ensure improvements are successfully embedded into daily operations. 
• Manage and report on the local Chubb project management framework, including prioritization and categorization of key projects across the business, whether locally, regionally or globally initiated.
• Facilitate the prioritization and scheduling of Dutch business initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Develop and implement consistent program and project governance structures and reporting, to support decision-making, monitoring, and review of existing processes.
• Ensure appropriate governance is in place, including adequate resourcing, project management, and engagement of external consultants where applicable.
• Optimize the deployment of project and change management resources in support of business objectives and oversee project management resources in the team in conjunction with business project owners.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across local teams and relevant regional and global business units to ensure successful delivery and benefit realization of ongoing initiatives.
• Build and promote an engaging culture and leverage each member’s unique capabilities to drive adoption.
• Adapt leadership to individual differences and preferences, allow divergent views, and manage constructive conflict.
• Foster high collaboration within the team and across the company, with an inclusive mindset.
• Perform other activities as required.

 

Stakeholder Management

• Act as a trusted business partner for Underwriting, Operations, IT, Alternative Distribution and (inter)national teams. 
• Collaborate closely with Operations while respecting operational ownership. 
• Connect people, processes, and technology to achieve shared business goals. 
• Influence without formal authority by creating trust, alignment, and ownership. 

 

Target Operating Models 

Lead and actively support adherence to Chubb’s target operating models. This requires understanding the operating model that Chubb wants to follow and proactive execution to achieve the required outcome. Work with team members in the Madrid HUB and other stakeholders to ensure renewal business migrates effectively where applicable and in support of the Line Manager. Knowledge and regular use of Chubb’s systems, including but not limited to Insight, Production Tracker, Pipeline reports, and QlikView reports, are essential. Drive and maintain best practice and discipline around the use of key operational systems, such as Workview. Look for opportunities to continuously improve our processes to generate operational efficiency.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree. 
• 3-5 years Proven Experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement or Business Transformation. 
• An experienced professional whose expertise is recognized.
• Experience within Financial Services or Insurance is a strong advantage. 
• Experience with digital transformation, AI and workflow optimization. 
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
• Ability to structure complex problems and turn them into practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to execute and influence at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Results driven with the ability to make own decisions and work on own initiatives.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
