Job Summary: 

Wholesure Inc., a division of Acrisure, is looking for an Underwriting Assistant who provides administrative, operational, and servicing support to underwriting teams by processing policy transactions, maintaining underwriting documentation, coordinating workflow activities, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role works closely with underwriters, carrier partners, agents, and internal business partners to support the efficient management of insurance business while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to agency and carrier guidelines. 

The Underwriting Assistant plays a critical role in supporting underwriting operations, servicing existing accounts, maintaining documentation, and contributing to a high-quality customer experience. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Process policy transactions including quotes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, audits, policy changes, and other servicing activities accurately and efficiently.  

  • Review submissions, policy documentation, and supporting materials to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with carrier guidelines and agency procedures. 

  • Assist underwriting staff with policy issuance, binding activities, and account servicing tasks.  

  • Maintain accurate and organized underwriting files, records, and documentation within agency management systems.

  • Coordinate the collection and organization of required documentation to support underwriting and servicing activities.  

  • Communicate professionally with agents, carriers, clients, and internal business partners regarding policy servicing requests, outstanding requirements, and account inquiries.  

  • Follow up on outstanding items and resolve discrepancies to ensure complete and accurate policy records.  

  • Support operational workflows and departmental initiatives designed to improve efficiency, service quality, and business performance.

  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with underwriters, carrier partners, agents, and other stakeholders.  

  • Prioritize assigned workloads and manage multiple tasks while meeting established productivity, quality, and service standards.

  • Provide exceptional customer service through timely, accurate, and professional communication.  

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements: 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).  

  • Ability to learn and apply carrier guidelines, underwriting procedures, and agency workflows. 

 

Education/Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED required. 

  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent work experience. 

  • Previous insurance, customer service, administrative support, or underwriting support experience preferred.

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $18 - $22. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
