Business Function

Global Transaction Services (GTS) provides essential banking solutions that facilitate international trade and financial management for businesses. This includes a comprehensive suite of services such as cash management, trade finance, and securities services. GTS helps clients optimize their working capital, manage cross-border payments, mitigate risks, and streamline their financial operations globally, ensuring efficient and secure transactions in an increasingly interconnected world.

This role supports GTS business performance and strategic execution through financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, cost and resource management, governance, and management reporting. The Business Manager partners with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights, coordinate priorities, strengthen decision-making, and drive key growth, productivity, and transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

• Lead the annual budget, multi-year planing, rolling forecast and monthly flash cycles across GTS products, ensuring assumptions are consistent, evidence-based and aligned with Group and market outlooks.
• Own ALCO balance projections and support active balance-sheet management, including deposits, assets, liquidity, funding and transfer-pricing assumptions.
• Coordinate headcount, operating expenses and technology-build plans

Performance Tracking & Variance Analysis

• Maintain robust daily and monthly product performance tracking, comparing actual results with budget, flash, forecast and relevant market indicators.
• Perform deep-dive variance analysis across revenue, balances, volumes, margins, expenses, product profitability and client or segment trends; distinguish timing effects from structural issues.
• Prepare meeting materials for regular business reviews, highlighting key drivers, risks, opportunities and recommended actions.
• Enhance dashboards and data analysis to improve data quality, transparency and management decision-making and initiative tracking.

Strategy, Cost Control & Resource Allocation

• Set the strategy and business plan, defining revenue growth priorities, product capability development and focused initiatives aligned with client needs, market opportunities and the bank’s strategic objectives.
• Monitor cost-to-income performance and operating expenses; challenge spend, identify efficiency opportunities and ensure resources are directed to the highest-value priorities.
• Oversee headcount and capacity allocation, balancing business growth, control obligations, service requirements and productivity objectives.

 

Governance & Stakeholder management

• Establish a clear governance cadence for forecasts, performance reviews and strategic initiatives, with documented assumptions, accountable owners, milestones and escalation paths.
• Partner with stakeholders such as Finance, Product managers, Sales, Risk, Tech & Operations and HR to ensure priorities and decisions reflect funding, liquidity, risk, control and resource implications.
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior GTS leadership, translating complex analysis into concise executive messages and driving timely follow-through on agreed actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline;
• 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience in business management, product finance or strategic planning, preferably in institutional or transaction banking.
• Strong understanding of transaction-banking economics, including cash management, trade finance, balance-sheet drivers, liquidity and transfer pricing.
• Excellent analytical discipline and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions and region.
• Proven ability to manage multiple planning cycles and initiatives under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy, governance and attention to detail.
