About the team
The Endowments & Foundations Investment Team (E&F) in the J.P. Morgan Private Bank manages global multi-asset portfolios on a discretionary basis for endowments, foundations, and institutional-minded family offices across traditional and ESG mandates. The team conducts original research and portfolio analysis to drive strategic, tactical, and implementation decisions across public and private markets. The team is regionally distributed (New York, London, Mumbai) and works collaboratively across the firm. With over $35B in assets under management, the team serves clients across the U.S., EMEA, and Latin America.
Job summary
As an Equity Research Associate in New York, you will report to the team’s Head of Equities and contribute directly to the equity research and investment process. You will work closely with senior portfolio decision-makers, build research depth across global equities, and gain exposure to portfolio construction, asset allocation discussions, and manager research.
Job responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Head of Equities to conduct original investment research and idea generation across global equities (fundamental and macro; developed and emerging markets).
- Support equity portfolio implementation, including due diligence on third-party funds/vehicles.
- Maintain, develop, and improve internal tools and infrastructure used to monitor markets, track research theses, and support trading and performance analytics.
- Present research findings and portfolio updates to the broader investment team and other stakeholders.
- Conduct meetings with internal and external collaborators (sell-side analysts, industry experts, third-party managers).
- Assist with portfolio management activities including trade planning, pre/post-trade analysis, and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with global internal partners (client advisors, trade execution specialists, and due diligence specialists).
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience, preferably in an investment-related role.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, and/or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; comfort with data (coding skills a plus).
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to work under time pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interest in research and markets; understanding of financial fundamentals, risk management topics, and multi-asset portfolio management concepts.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment on a global team.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Prior experience in an investing role.
- Advanced degree and/or CFA charterholder or progress toward the CFA.
