Web3 Financial Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified, reliable Financial Accountant to join our team supporting Foundation clients in the digital assets space. You will own the day-to-day finance function for a portfolio of clients and work independently with minimal supervision.

This is a hands-on delivery role. You will prepare the numbers, not only review them. You will work alongside our Cayman and London teams, who set the governance frameworks and compliance policy you operate within.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

• Maintain books and records: day-to-day bookkeeping, transaction processing and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journals in QuickBooks Online or Xero (essential).
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.

Payments & Reconciliations

• Process and reconcile payments across banking rails (fiat) and wallets (digital assets).
• Route payments for approval in line with client mandates and Cayman regulatory requirements.
• Reconcile banking and custody accounts, and flag breaks or unexplained movements promptly.
• Apply established KYC and wallet screening procedures to payments and grant disbursements, escalating exceptions to the Compliance team.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as a day-to-day finance contact for your client portfolio.
• Provide regular financial updates to clients and to the internal team.
• Liaise with our Cayman and London-based teams on financial reporting and commentary.
• Work with external service providers, including banks, custodians and administrators, to keep delivery on track.
• Follow documented finance policies and procedures, and flag gaps or propose improvements.

What's Essential

• Professional accounting qualification: CA(SA), AGA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or ACCA. This is a requirement, not a preference.
• 2–3+ years post-qualification experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong experience preparing management accounts and owning a full finance function end to end.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or Xero, and the confidence to learn other accounting and reporting systems.
• Sound understanding of payments, financial controls and reconciliation discipline.
•  A self-starter who works independently with minimal supervision after onboarding, with an inquiring mind and a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders, including international teams.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in an outsourced finance or client-facing role.
• Exposure to Web3, crypto or digital assets. We will train the right candidate; curiosity matters more than prior experience.
• Working knowledge of Cayman or other international financial governance frameworks.
•  Hands-on experience reconciling both fiat and digital asset payments.
• Experience supporting KYC and due diligence processes in a regulated financial setting.
