Shore United Bank is hiring a Branch Manager to join our team. The Branch Manager is responsible for managing the branch office to meet the financial service needs of customers in the assigned community market area. The Branch Manager leads a team to ensure an exceptional customer and team member experience, manage risk, and support growth. As a leader, you will coach, motivate, and develop your team of direct reports to achieve their full potential and meet business objectives set forth by the annual operating plan.
What You'll Do:
A detailed list of job duties includes (but is not limited to):
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the branch.
- Work with management in establishing growth, sales, and profit objectives for the branch. Provide input regarding these objectives and to the way performance will be measured and controlled.
- Ensure the office is compliant with operating policies, procedures, and outside regulatory requirements.
- Provide superior customer service through conversation to identify additional client needs.
- Serve as an active member of the office customer service team; answers in-person and telephone inquiries; may open new accounts and assists customers with changes as needed.
- Promote the growth of the branch office and to accomplish the objectives of attracting new business including recognizing sales opportunities for other banking products and service, cross-selling, and developing staff to maximize selling and service skill through consistent coaching and feedback.
- Provide loan processing for customers based on loan authority established by Loan Policy; take applications and handle routine inquiries concerning loans, rates, and payment schedules.
- Make Business Development calls to prospective new customers and to current customers to enhance their financial wellbeing.
- Develop strong partnerships with and Operations Leaders, Financial Advisors, Small Business colleagues and other line of business partners focusing on customer acquisition and deepening the relationship of current customers.
- Provide investigation, analysis, and resolution to customer problems/concerns; assure customer needs are met.
- Participate in community activities & networking events to promote the organization and to build relationships.
- Attend, Lead Branch Team huddles & meetings as scheduled.
- Abide by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Demonstrates compliance awareness by completing all required regulatory and compliance training (e.g., BSA, CRA, ECOA) on or before deadlines, and actively supporting all policies, procedures, and practices that promote risk management, safety, and regulatory adherence
- Monitor, approve, and manage employee timekeeping for payroll.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations for positions directly supervise.
- Provide recommendations for promotion and salary adjustment as appropriate.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Partner with HR to recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff for the branch as needed.
- Keep personnel informed and updated of pertinent policies and procedures.
- Meet one on one with the team on a regular basis to develop and mentor staff.
- Conduct branch team meetings and morning huddles on a regular basis.
- Ensure goals and objectives are clearly communicated with branch staff and provide guidance to meet these goals and objectives.
Location: Bowie Branch - 16921 Melford Blvd., Suite 102 Bowie, MD 20715. Bowie is our newest branch opening in late 2026. Training will take place in our Crofton Branch until Bowie is fully opened.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Full-time.
- Exempt.
- Days of Work: Monday-Friday, with rotating Saturdays (Closed Sundays and all Federal Holidays)
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent banking experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a branch management and supervisory role
- Prior experience in a business development capacity
- Prior experience in a leadership role with demonstrated ability to coach and mentor a successful team.
- Federal NMLS License required, or ability to get licensed following hire
Work Environment:
This job operates in a branch office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction printer/scanner/copier devices. In addition to standard office equipment, this role also uses cash and coin counters and, in some cases, a teller cash recycler. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the office or branch environment for extended periods; perform routine office tasks; communicate effectively; interact with customers and team members; and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Frequent use of standard office equipment and extended periods of viewing computer screens and reviewing detailed information are required. The role also requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend, stoop, and lift or carry materials, including up to 50 pounds of bulk coin/currency. Compensation:
- The pay range for this position is $65,700 to $84,500 annually. This position includes an additional quarterly incentive based on sales performance.
- Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
