The Websites Team is responsible for all aspects of the Nationwide website estate – including, nationwide.co.uk; nationwide-intermediary.co.uk; themortgageworks.co.uk and product pages in the Internet bank and the Banking App. Our purpose is to ensure customers receive a simply brilliant experience every time they interact with us online.
We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive Demand & Resource Planning Consultant to join our Website Operations Team.
This is a key role at the heart of our delivery function, responsible for bringing visibility, structure and control to the flow of work across multiple teams. You’ll work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure the right work is prioritised, the right resources are available, and delivery plans remain realistic and achievable.
Through your insight, collaboration and ability to connect teams, you'll help create the conditions for successful delivery, enabling the Websites function to respond effectively to changing priorities while continuing to deliver great outcomes for our customers.
This is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, London, Bournemouth or Glasgow office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
What you’ll be doing
You'll take ownership of the team's demand, capacity and resource planning activities, ensuring there is a clear and accurate view of current and future work across the website estate. Maintaining a robust pipeline of activity, you'll work closely with Product Owners, delivery teams and stakeholders to understand upcoming demand, forecast future workload and ensure priorities remain aligned to business objectives.
Working across multiple teams and workstreams, you'll coordinate resource allocation to support the successful delivery of key initiatives. You'll facilitate planning and prioritisation discussions, helping teams understand effort, dependencies and timescales, while identifying potential resource gaps, capacity constraints and delivery risks early enough to take action and keep plans on track.
You'll play an important role in providing insight and visibility through meaningful reporting and dashboards, using tools such as Jira, Excel and Power BI to support decision making at all levels. Alongside this, you'll help drive consistency across planning, governance and operational processes, ensuring effective ways of working are embedded across the wider function.
You'll also support the day-to-day operation of the Websites function, including Demand Change Forum administration, governance activities and business reporting. As a champion for continuous improvement, you'll look for opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency and strengthen the team's ability to deliver value for our customers and colleagues.

As a minimum you’ll have:
Proven experience of demand, capacity or resource planning within a digital, website or technology delivery environment
Experience managing and prioritising a pipeline of work, balancing competing demands across multiple stakeholders, teams or workstreams
Experience producing demand, capacity, resource or delivery plans, with evidence of identifying risks, constraints and dependencies to support successful delivery
Strong analytical skills, including experience using data and reporting to inform planning decisions and provide management insight
Experience using planning and reporting tools such as Jira, Excel and Power BI to manage workload visibility, reporting and forecasting
