About the Role We're looking for an experienced actuarial modelling specialist to join our Finance function as a Financial Modelling Lead. This role offers the opportunity to become a key expert within our specialist actuarial modelling capability, helping to shape the future direction of our modelling environment and the solutions that underpin critical business decisions. Working closely with the Head of Financial Modelling, you'll lead the development and enhancement of actuarial models that support regulatory reporting, financial planning, forecasting, capital assessment and strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex modelling challenges, driving innovation and influencing how actuarial modelling is delivered. You'll join at an exciting time as we continue to improve our actuarial modelling estate following a migration to a modern modelling platform. With responsibility for models that project customer cashflow and liabilities over long-term horizons and support operations across Europe and Asia, you'll have the chance to create an impact on the efficiency, capability and future evolution of our modelling environment. What You'll Be Doing Leading the development, enhancement and optimisation of actuarial models used for regulatory reporting, financial projections, cashflow forecasting and liability assessment. Acting as a senior technical expert within the actuarial modelling team, partnering closely with the Head of Financial Modelling to develop modelling strategy and future development priorities. Supporting the maintenance and development of regulatory actuarial reporting and financial projection models. Translating business initiatives, product developments and regulatory requirements into robust actuarial modelling solutions. Driving model efficiency improvements, automation initiatives and innovation across the modelling environment. Providing oversight and review of modelling developments delivered by colleagues across the wider team. Supporting the governance and control framework for model development, testing, documentation and access management. Working closely with Finance, Technology and software providers to ensure the continued effectiveness of the modelling estate. Championing best practice and providing expertise across modelling tools and technologies, including actuarial modelling software, Excel, Python, R, SQL and Snowflake. Contributing to the future evolution of a modern actuarial modelling platform and helping embed modelling capabilities across the function. About You You're an experienced actuarial modelling professional who thrives on technical problem-solving and enjoys taking ownership of complex modelling challenges. You bring deep modelling expertise, strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate business requirements into effective actuarial solutions. Most importantly, you're excited by the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of a sophisticated actuarial modelling environment while working as a recognised technical specialist rather than in a people management role. Essential Criteria Extensive experience developing, maintaining and improving actuarial models within a financial services or regulated environment. Strong technical actuarial modelling skills with the ability to independently lead complex model development and improvement initiatives. Proven experience working with financial projection, regulatory reporting, cashflow forecasting, liability or capital models. Good at communicating with other modelling professionals and wider stakeholders, judging the appropriate use of technical language for the audience. Desirable Criteria Experience within life insurance, pensions, wealth management or a similar regulated industry. Experience of actuarial modelling platforms and programming tools such as Python, R, SQL, AON - Tyche or similar technologies.
