Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a high-calibre, hands-on Head of Analysis & Design to lead our team of senior Analysts and support the evolution of our business architecture across our Public Markets Investment Platform.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that enterprise strategy, operating models, and cross-domain business capabilities are clearly defined, aligned, and translated into scalable platform outcomes.
You will operate at the intersection of business strategy, investment domain expertise, product management, solution design and technology delivery, ensuring business priorities are translated into scalable platform outcomes across Public Markets while remaining aligned to wider Asset Management Platform standards and objectives.
As a senior leader, you will lead and develop the Public Markets Analysis & Design capability, embedding strong business analysis, solution design and product thinking disciplines that drive measurable business value, effective delivery and continuous improvement.
The role acts as the primary bridge between Public Markets business stakeholders, product management, architecture and engineering teams. Whilst engineering teams may operate under separate reporting structures, the Head of Analysis & Design remains accountable for ensuring analysis, solution design and technology delivery remain closely aligned through active participation in technology governance, planning and design forums.

The team
The Asset Management Platform (AMP) is a global technology change and delivery organisation responsible for the platforms that underpin Schroders’ investment, client and operational capabilities across public and private markets
AMP brings together a set of business-aligned technology platforms—including Client, Investment, Group Operations, Data and Finance—into a single, integrated asset management capability, enabling consistent, scalable and value-driven outcomes across the firm.
Operating within a platform-centric model, teams are aligned to business outcomes while leveraging shared enterprise capabilities across architecture, data, engineering and delivery to drive standardisation, reuse, and speed of execution.
Asset Management Platform – Analysis & Design
The Analysis & Design function is a core enterprise level capability within the Asset Management Platform, accountable for shaping the future direction of the firm's technology and business capabilities.
Operating across all business aligned domains, the team provides leadership in business analysis, architecture, operating model design, strategic analysis and product management, ensuring investment is aligned to business priorities and enterprise outcomes.
Through the definition of common standards, reusable design patterns and platform-wide governance, the function drives consistency, simplification and scalability, enabling the organisation to accelerate change, optimise cost, and realise the full potential of data, AI and platform-based operating models.
Analysis & Design plays a central role in achieving this by:
- Defining enterprise-wide capability models and value streams
- Ensuring alignment across platforms and business domains
- Driving standardisation, simplification, and convergence
- Enabling data - and AI-driven transformation at scale
The Head of Analysis will provide the structural backbone linking strategy to execution, ensuring that business intent is consistently realised across the platform ecosystem.
What you’ll do

Lead the Analysis & Design strategy for Public Markets, ensuring Public Markets products, platforms and technology investments align with Asset Management Platform standards, enterprise architecture principles and strategic objectives.

Ensure Public Markets products, platforms and investments remain aligned with Asset Management Platform strategy, standards and architecture.

Lead, develop and grow the Public Markets Analysis & Design team, establishing high standards, clear career pathways and a culture of continuous improvement.

Partner with business stakeholders across research, portfolio management, trading and investment operations to shape strategic priorities and transformation initiatives.

Define and evolve business capabilities, operating models and business processes across Public Markets, ensuring clear alignment between strategy, execution and technology outcomes.

Translate business strategy into clear requirements, high level designs and delivery outcomes that create measurable business value.

Partner with Product Leads, Engineering Leads and Architects to shape backlogs, govern solution design and ensure Public Markets technology outcomes align with business priorities, architectural standards and Asset Management Platform objectives.

Maintain strong engagement with engineering leadership and participate in technology planning, governance and architecture forums to ensure business analysis and solution design remain closely integrated with technology delivery.

Act as the bridge between business, product, architecture and engineering teams, driving alignment and effective decision-making across complex initiatives.

Drive simplification, standardisation and continuous improvement across investment processes and ways of working.

Establish and continuously improve business analysis and solution design standards, methodologies and governance across Public Markets.

Identify capability gaps, inefficiencies and transformation opportunities across the investment lifecycle.

Embed data, analytics and AI considerations into business processes and solution design, identifying opportunities to improve investment outcomes, operational efficiency and user experience.

Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Investments, Technology and Change to influence decisions and drive strategic outcomes.

Contribute to the wider Analysis & Design, Architecture and Asset Management Platform communities, promoting consistency, collaboration and best practice.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

Proven experience leading Business Analysis, Analysis & Design or related functions within a complex, global organisation.

Strong understanding of Public Markets and asset management business processes, including research, portfolio management, trading and investment operations.

Experience building, developing and leading high-performing teams of Business Analysts and Analysis & Design professionals.

Strong understanding of business architecture, operating model design, business capability modelling and end-to-end process improvement.

Experience operating within platform-led, product-based or agile delivery organisations.

Proven ability to translate business strategy into clear outcomes, roadmaps and deliverable change initiatives.

Experience partnering with Product, Engineering and Architecture teams to shape and deliver technology-enabled business transformation.

Strong understanding of modern technology concepts, including platform architectures, data ecosystems, integration patterns and AI-enabled solutions.

Experience ensuring business outcomes, product direction and technology delivery remain aligned with enterprise strategy, architecture and platform standards

Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build strong relationships across business and technology functions.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and articulate a clear strategic direction.
