Join the P & C Insurance team, a newly created opportunity for JPMC looking to build P&C Insurance Distribution offerings across the firm, focused on serving the needs of tens of millions of our consumer, business and wealth customers.
As the Vice President of Insurance Agency Operations in Business Banking Insurance, you are responsible for contributing to building of the day-to-day operations of the property and casualty insurance agency. This role ensures seamless client service delivery and process efficiency/effectiveness across the agency operations that serve multiple Lines of Business. The ideal candidate is an experienced insurance professional who combines technical P&C knowledge with strong understanding of the detailed processes and systems that lead to the effective build-out and operation of a large scale insurance agency. This role will be at the center of the effective build and delivery of our insurance capability across the firm.
Job responsibilities
- In the start-up phase provide guidance and expertise on the detailed creation of operational workflows, including quoting, policy processing, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements. Detailed knowledge of this ecosystem is key.
- Contribute to the selection and implementation of the agency management system (AMS) that will form the backbone of agency workflows and customer management — and then once in market help refine the effectiveness and efficiency of workflows across the insurance platform
- Develop, document, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Contribute to the effective onboarding and ongoing training on P&C products, agency systems, and compliance requirements
- Beyond this build phase (expected late 2027) we anticipate working with the candidate on refining the role into something fit for the business-as-usual phase, building on what the candidate has contributed and where their passion is.
- Work as a close partner for the leaders and teams in our PXT build and delivery engine across product, design, data and technology.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in P&C insurance
- Demonstrated knowledge of personal lines and/or commercial lines products, coverages, and underwriting
- Proficiency with at least one major agency management system
- Solid understanding of state insurance regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Necessary skills and experience at the start-up stage of an agency business where there is a need to define and build detailed process and workflow plans within the agency
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- Industry designations such as CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), CPCU, CISR, or AAI
- Experience with surplus lines and E&S market placements
- Familiarity with commercial lines accounts including BOP, GL, Workers’ Compensation, Professional Liability and Commercial Auto
- Experience implementing or migrating agency management systems
