LATAM CSC Payments Operations Intermediate Analystnew

Citi is looking for a Payments Operations Intermediate Analyst to play a central role in the accuracy, control, and efficiency of cross-border payment operations within our global Service Center. In this position, you will lead day-to-day payment investigations, coordinate team activities, and ensure that transactions are processed, reconciled, and resolved to the highest standard. You will work at the intersection of operations, analysis, and team coordination — contributing directly to the reliability of Citi's treasury and trade services on a global scale.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end cross-border payment investigations, coordinating with settlement teams to ensure accurate and timely resolution and the return of funds where required.
• Perform daily reconciliation of transaction activity, identifying and resolving discrepancies with precision and attention to detail.
• Monitor transaction processing queues and conduct root cause analysis on errors to maintain adherence to audit and control standards.
• Deliver customized operational reports based on data analysis, providing actionable insights to support decision-making across the payments team.
• Act as a checker within the team, reviewing and validating payment transactions and documentation before processing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate team workflows and provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring consistent delivery standards.
• Assess operational risk in transaction-related decisions and escalate control issues with transparency to protect clients and uphold Citi's standards.
• Respond to time-sensitive requests from internal teams and external clients, delivering accurate transaction information and managing expectations effectively.

Required qualifications & skills

• 2 to 5 years of experience in financial operations, with direct exposure to cash management, trade operations, or cross-border payments processing.
• Advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly across international teams and with global stakeholders.
• Demonstrated analytical ability, including the review and interpretation of financial transaction documentation and operational data.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project, and Windows operating environments, applied to daily reporting and operational coordination tasks.
• Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships across teams and functions.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
