About the Role
The Markets Middle Office Analyst will be part of Brokerage Services, Front Office Support and Business Governance (FOSG) team within Markets. The individual will perform invoice capturing, brokerage fee reconciliation and then fee to be processed to brokers’ standard settlement instructions through Settlements team. The individual will have to investigate brokerage differences via the review of brokerage agreements; ANZ booking model exceptions and liaise with broker/Front Office accordingly to resolve discrepancies.
The individual will need to follow up with brokers for any outstanding invoices or queries and escalate the aged issues with accurate and complete details in timely manner for assistance/resolution. On top of this, the role holder will build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, senior managers and other key stakeholders.

What will your day look like?
As a Markets Middle Office Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all activities are executed in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational standards.
- Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of products across FX, Rates, Credit, and Commodities asset classes, recognizing that brokerage fee structures vary by product type.
- Performing control checks, validations, and reconciliations of brokerage invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Executing daily control activities and payment verification processes to support accurate and timely settlements.
- Reviewing brokerage invoice agreements as part of daily BAU activities and ensuring adherence to applicable terms, conditions, and internal controls.
- Partnering with team members to prioritize high-risk counterparties, mitigate operational risks, and drive process improvements.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and improve overall team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across Front Office, Product Control, Business Management, Operational Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Global Markets teams, while effectively managing stakeholder expectations through proactive communication.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- 5-6 years of experience within Global Markets Operations, with exposure to a broad range of financial products and booking models.
- Strong knowledge of Markets products and derivatives, including their lifecycles, trade flows, and associated operational processes.
- Proven understanding of product booking models across multiple asset classes, with the ability to analyze and resolve transaction discrepancies.
- Strong knowledge of Global Markets workflows, including trade capture, trade booking, data flows, confirmations, settlements, and reconciliations.
- Experience in performing brokerage invoice reconciliations, payment validations, and control activities within a regulated environment.
- Solid understanding of Operational Risk Management, including risk identification, mitigation, and escalation practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in reconciliations, controls, and process governance, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other key stakeholders.
