SCS, Focus Partners Family Office and OCIO, is seeking interested students for its Private Client Group (PCG) Summer Internship. This internship will provide students with the opportunity to learn and participate in all facets of the wealth management industry, working directly with our advisors to help support our clients. We are seeking candidates who are well-organized, energetic, and team oriented. The right candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic who has excellent communication skills and attention to detail. This person must be willing to provide the highest level of client service, professionalism, and confidentiality. Furthermore, this person must be able to efficiently prioritize tasks and consistently meet deadlines.

The Focus internship program combines meaningful work experience with onboarding and training, mentorship, executive speaker sessions, firmwide networking, social and community engagement opportunities, formal performance feedback, and priority consideration for a full-time Client Advisor role based on performance and business needs.

Interns in this position will work on-site 5 days per week.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

Interns will be responsible for assisting senior team members in implementing and maintaining clients’ investment and strategic plans. This may include:

  • Preparing client meeting presentations

  • Preparing/reviewing/confirming trading and other investment activity

  • Operational account administration

  • Monitoring portfolios against asset allocation targets

  • Working on ad-hoc projects

  • Coordinating with accountants and estate attorneys

  • Assisting with real-time client inquiries and requests as they arrive

Interns will also have opportunities to shadow senior members of the Private Client Group throughout the summer and listen in on external conversations, including calls and meetings with accountants, attorneys, and business managers. The internship will include educational sessions with the senior leadership team and opportunities to receive informal mentoring and insight from leaders in wealth management.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field

  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 and Spring 2028

  • Preferred GPA of 3.5+

  • Aptitude for learning complex financial and investment concepts

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on projects effectively

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint)

  • Ability to work and commute out of SCS’s Dallas office

  • Team-oriented mindset and propensity for partnership and collaboration

  • Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Ability to complete required assessments and a digital video interview as part of the application process

This is a non-exempt position. The base pay for this role is expected to be $25/hr. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, work location, and the applicant’s skill set.
