MarshDescription:
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Account Manager to join our Broking team, who will work with Victoria's most progressive councils, delivering innovative risk transfer solutions that protect critical public assets and services. This is so much more than a traditional broking role; it’s a strategic partnership with trusted influence across the sector.
This is a high-impact role where you'll develop a deep expertise in alternative risk transfer solutions (Discretionary Trusts and Mutuals) as well as bespoke general insurance products to solve complex challenges, build enduring relationships, and grow a thriving client portfolio. Based in our Melbourne office with flexible hybrid arrangements, you'll visit councils throughout Victoria (both metropolitan and regional) building presence and delivering solutions that matter.
We will count on you to:
- Develop and maintain both internal and external stakeholder relationships to provide a tailored service to each client.
- Provide timely and accurate client advice across a range of alternative risk transfer and insurance products
- Achieve growth targets; retain and grow a portfolio of local government clients.
- Plan and implement effective renewal strategies, ensuring strong account retention and defence
- Build presence across Victoria, understanding regional nuances and sector-specific challenges to deliver contextually relevant advice
What you need to have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of client portfolio management in insurance broking and/or general insurance.
- Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (or higher).
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and demonstrate excellent time management while maintaining high service standards.
- Previous experience in alternative risk transfer options (Discretionary Trust / Mutuals) is desirable.
Why join our team?
- Work with recognised sector leaders who set the standard for innovation and expertise in risk transfer solutions for local government clients.
- Move beyond transactional broking—advise at strategic level, influence decision-making, and create lasting solutions that serve your clients and communities.
- We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work, and mentoring from experienced leaders.
- We foster a positive and inclusive culture where you can collaborate with talented colleagues, create new solutions, and have a true positive impact for colleagues, clients, and communities.
- As a part of Marsh, benefit from our scale as a global leader, which enables a wide range of career opportunities, along with benefits and rewards to support your well-being.
