The Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) organization serves as American Express’ independent risk management function. GRC maintains the enterprise risk framework, provides oversight and challenge, and monitors key risks. By embedding risk discipline into strategy and operations, GRC enables responsible growth, innovation, and long-term value creation while protecting customers and shareholders.

The International Regulatory Compliance team in Spain performs a critical role in ensuring that the European Legal Entities comply with all applicable laws and regulations. This team will give the candidate the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, whilst developing world-class leadership skills.

  • Advisory role in the implementation of new laws and regulations in the Regulatory Change Management process.
  • Participation in the Compliance Risk Assessment process and the effective challenge.
  • Support business initiatives, including new products assessments.
  • Communications and customer-facing materials review from a transparency perspective and in line with internal policies.
  • Support in the periodic reviews of Compliance policies and procedures.
  • University degree (preferably in Law).
  • At least 4-6 years of Compliance regulatory experience related to financial institutions or payments industry.
  • High level of English is a must, both verbal and written.
  • Must be familiar with payment services regulation in Spain and Europe.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with business, stakeholders and partners.
  • Excellent and solid communication (verbal and written) and influencing skills.
  • Ability to adapt and handle several tasks at the same time and to work as a team.
  • Analytical skills and strong business understanding.
  • Initiative and ability to assume responsibilities.
