To be filledWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Group Underwriter to join our Group Underwriting department at Chubb Life Egypt. This role is responsible for the assessment, pricing, and management of risk for all Group Life, Medical, and Group Credit insurance quotations. The position focuses on delivering timely and accurate underwriting decisions, supporting portfolio growth and profitability, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical underwriting expertise, a solid understanding of group insurance principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams including actuarial, sales, and claims.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business for Group Life, Medical, and Group Credit products.
- Analyze group demographics, claims experience, and other risk factors to determine appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Prepare and review quotations, ensuring alignment with company profitability and risk appetite.
- Ensure all underwriting decisions are well-documented and compliant with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Support the development and enhancement of underwriting tools and processes.
Liaise with distribution, actuarial, claims, and product teams to ensure seamless service delivery and accurate risk assessment. Mentor and train junior underwriters and support staff.
Prepare Risk Assessment Forms (RAF) and send them to the global team for approval.
Handle correspondence and communications with the FRA regarding issuance or renewal of contracts and obtaining necessary approvals.
Monitor and review the performance of the group portfolio, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in group underwriting, with a focus on Group Life, Medical, and/or Group Credit products.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and underwriting/pricing tools.
- Knowledge of local regulatory requirements and market practices in Egypt is preferred.
- Professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CII, LOMA) are an advantage.
