About the Role
The Senior Manager Process & Controls Monitoring role leads the optimization of the division’s approach to control monitoring by increasing the effectiveness of control design and operating effectiveness assurance, enabling the expansion of central monitoring coverage of the divisions control environment, by the Center of Expertise. Use data‑driven methods to assess control design and operating effectiveness, highlight non‑compliance and thematic issues, and translate findings into clear, prioritized remediation and continuous‑improvement actions.
Lead and champion uplift in testing design, automation and coverage; ensure testing work is well‑governed, traceable, and timely; and drive adherence to enterprise risk standards and regulatory obligations through disciplined escalation and transparent reporting.
Accountability to partner closely with business owners, SMEs and risk specialists to strengthen the end‑to‑end control environment and risk culture, influencing stakeholders to embed sustainable fixes. Scope and independently manage a defined book of work (and/or a small squad), set near‑term priorities and quality standards, and engage stakeholders up to Senior Manager / Head‑of levels to land outcomes.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Manager, you will:
- Lead independent, risk-based controls testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of key business processes and controls.
- Identify control weaknesses, compliance breaches, emerging risks and thematic issues, and drive timely escalation and remediation.
- Use data analytics, automation and digital tools to enhance control monitoring, testing coverage and assurance outcomes.
- Generate actionable insights, dashboards and governance reporting that support effective risk management and decision-making.
- Partner with business stakeholders, control owners and risk specialists to strengthen the control environment and embed sustainable control improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies, control monitoring practices, automation and assurance capabilities.
- Lead, coach and develop team members while ensuring delivery of high-quality testing and assurance outcomes.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Strong understanding of control testing methodologies, including design and operating‑effectiveness assessment.
- Strong knowledge of non‑financial risk frameworks, risk obligations, and regulatory standards.
- Understanding of governance expectations, documentation requirements, and evidence standards.
- Knowledge of data analytics concepts, data structures, and how data informs risk and control assessment.
- Advanced capability in data analytics and automation tools to support scalable, efficient control testing.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable recommendations.
- Strong planning, prioritisation, and organisation skills to manage multiple testing activities and deadlines.
- Experience applying control testing methodologies in complex business environments.
