Senior Vice President, Commercial Loans and Capital Management, Citi Commercial Bank

Citi is seeking a Senior Vice President, Commercial Loans and Capital Management, to lead commercial loan product and capital management oversight within the Citi Commercial Bank (CCB), a global business serving mid-sized companies across 43 market and 95 countries. In this senior role, you will sit at the intersection of capital management, client strategy, and commercial lending, partnering with global coverage teams, finance, risk, and underwriting to ensure capital is deployed effectively to drive strong revenues and returns. This is a high-visibility opportunity that offers direct exposure to senior leadership and meaningful influence over the strategic direction of Citi’s commercial banking platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial lending submissions to senior internal forums covering balance sheet, capital, and risk reviews, ensuring that positions are accurately represented and strategically sound
  • Serve as an agile advisory partner with an ability to shift from a top-down portfolio focus to a bottoms-up client viewpoint
  • Produce executive-level presentations and technical reports for CCB and Banking senior management translating complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Monitor liquidity management and limits management targets and positions
  • Design and implement digital tools and structured processes that embed capital and loan product management disciplines into daily commercial banking operations
  • Track regulatory capital developments and assess their potential impact on CCB’s lending strategy and client base, ensuring the business remains proactively well positioned within the evolving capital landscape
  • Analyze client and loan profitability across the commercial portfolio, assessing revenue generation, cost structure, funding, liquidity, cost of credit, tax implications, capital and risk-adjusted returns
  • Create educational materials and frameworks for commercial bankers on client returns, capital management, and lending products concepts, raising analytical capability across the business
  • Assist with the capital approval process for the Commercial Bank, evaluating new loan and capital commitments on a risk-adjusted returns basis to ensure disciplined decision-making
  • Monitor loan product performance and client profitability against defined targets, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and the lending experience
  • Operate in a complex environment with rapid currents of change
  • Support a strong risk and control environment across Citi

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 10 or more years of experience in banking, loan or product management, or a closely related financial services discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams toward high-value business outcomes, influencing stakeholders across coverage, finance, risk, strategy and technology functions
  • Broad functional experience spanning areas such as banking relationship management, credit, finance, analytics, or commercial lending operations
  • Proven track record of using data analytics and management information to drive business performance and support strategic decision-making
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with precision and composure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to build consensus, influence senior stakeholders, and present complex ideas concisely
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university qualification

  • Working knowledge of commercial lending practices and risk policies relevant to a global commercial banking environment
