Job summary
As a Trade Lifecycle Team Lead – Prime brokerage settlements in Prime brokerage settlements, you will oversee daily settlement deliverables and help ensure strong service quality and operational discipline. You will perform hands-on processing while partnering with leadership to improve procedures, controls, and issue management. You will also contribute to projects and change initiatives across the Asia Pacific region.
Job responsibilities
- Release accurate trade instructions to the market and internal stakeholders within required timelines.
- Manage reopening, processing, and settlement of trades in settlement platforms, including exception handling as needed.
- Perform inventory and position checks and support intercompany reconciliation activities prior to settlement date.
- Monitor and improve service quality by ensuring procedures are followed and deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Partner with the process lead to drive operational excellence, including prioritization, escalation, and stakeholder communication.
- Maintain and periodically update written procedures, including standard operating procedures and process documentation.
- Identify opportunities for additional controls and process improvements to strengthen risk management.
- Investigate settlement exceptions, including fails and trade breaks, and escalate issues promptly with clear root-cause detail.
- Produce and share daily and weekly operational metrics to support performance management and transparency.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 3 years of experience in banking, financial services, or a related operations function.
- Working knowledge of the trade lifecycle for equity and fixed income products, including settlements and post-trade processing.
- Experience in settlements, trade management, and/or asset servicing operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage daily deliverables with accuracy and timeliness in a high-volume environment.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills, with ability to engage effectively with key stakeholders.
- Strong organization and time management skills, including ability to prioritize under tight deadlines.
- Control-focused mindset with understanding of operational risk practices, audit expectations, and relevant industry policies or regulations.
- Proven relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate across teams and time zones.
- Flexibility to work holidays and/or extended hours during peak volumes, when required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience supporting prime brokerage settlements and/or markets operations.
- Experience supporting settlements in Asia Pacific markets and market-rule driven changes.
- Experience participating in process re-engineering, system enhancements, or operational change initiatives.
