VP or Director, Institutional Securities Group, Collateral Operations, Tokyonew

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Director or Vice President to join its Collateral and Indications Operations. This team is responsible for the end-to-end management of OTC derivatives collateral operations for Japanese clients trading with Morgan Stanley Japan, as well as with Morgan Stanley’s UK and US affiliate entities. As part of the Operations division, the team works closely with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, maintain strong control frameworks, and deliver high-quality service to clients.

What you'll do in the role:

• Manage and execute operational processes in relation to Collateral management functions
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing operational support
• Manage regulatory report submissions and maintain legal ledgers
• Oversee risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements
• Manage and develop team members, including career development, resourcing decisions, and performance evaluations
• Contribute to projects and strategic initiatives by supporting solution development and ensuring timely and effective execution.
• Assess and implement process enhancements to meet new regulatory requirements and support business initiatives

Expected Skill and Experience:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with trading desks, global clients, and external broker counterparties
• Strong ability to prioritize and manage competing demands in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Proven experience in enhancing operational scalability and supporting business growth through process optimization
• Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines while balancing multiple and sometimes competing priorities
• Demonstrated success in collaborating across global teams and building strong, credible stakeholder relationships
• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and industry developments, with the agility to adapt to evolving business and compliance needs
• Commitment to people leadership, talent development, and fostering high-performing teams
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English
