Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant serves as a key member of Strategic Comp's Internal Operations team, supporting employee experience, organizational effectiveness, and day-to-day business operations. This role coordinates onboarding activities, employee communications, organizational reporting, and internal events while providing administrative support to employees and leaders across the organization. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, customer-focused, and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, identify opportunities to enhance processes, and contribute to a positive employee experience.

Great American’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in-office days are Monday–Thursday. Friday is an optional remote workday, based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees, including orientation scheduling, first-day logistics, stakeholder communication, and ongoing enhancement of the onboarding experience.

  • Generate weekly employee change reports and prepare organizational communications regarding new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and other workforce updates.

  • Maintain and regularly update organizational charts, reporting structures, distribution lists, and departmental information.

  • Coordinate employee engagement and recognition initiatives, including employee spotlight features, service anniversaries, birthdays, recognition programs, and other internal communications activities.

  • Provide administrative support to Strategic Comp leaders and functional departments.

  • Coordinate meetings, interviews, and business events, including scheduling, logistics, communications, and materials preparation.

  • Assist in planning and executing regional meetings and other company events, including venue selection, travel arrangements, catering, and event logistics.

  • Manage and support shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and related access requests.

  • Serve as a backup resource for operational support activities, including equipment, vendor, and vehicle-related coordination.

  • Respond to employee and internal business partner inquiries in a professional, timely, and customer-focused manner.

  • Support special projects, process improvement initiatives, and departmental efforts designed to enhance organizational effectiveness and the employee experience.

  • Analyze existing administrative and operational workflows and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Three to five years of administrative, operations, employee support, human resources, or related business experience, including coordination of onboarding activities, events, employee communications, or business processes.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships and interact effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new systems and technologies.

  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance processes, challenge the status quo, and improve the employee experience.
