About Enterprise Strategy 

Enterprise Strategy is the internal consulting division of American Express. We work directly with the CEO, the executive team, and senior leaders to provide thought leadership and an external perspective on the most important strategic priorities of the company. 

How will you make an impact in this role?

As a Senior Manager Intern, you will be tackling the most important strategic opportunities and challenges facing American Express today. Projects are primarily oriented around growth strategy in order to drive long-term success and innovation for American Express.

You will own project workstreams end-to-end, including scoping and structuring problems, conducting complex analyses and research, and creating presentations. You’ll collaborate closely with your teammates to develop solutions and present recommendations to senior leaders.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the enterprise, including C-suite executives, to drive strategic initiatives that enhance the leadership position of American Express. You will establish yourself as a trusted thought partner to your business partners.

As a member of the Enterprise Strategy team, you’ll join a close-knit and supportive group of colleagues who put an emphasis on diversity of perspective, mentorship, fun, and a balanced lifestyle.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MBA degree
  • 2-3+ years of full-time professional experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen to advise executive leadership 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 
  • Strong project management skills, including prioritization, work planning, execution discipline 
  • Proficiency with both qualitative and quantitative data analysis 
  • Interpersonal skills – ability to collaborate effectively in a team
